August 26, 1954: "On Sunday, Mrs. Molly Frenger accompanied Mr. and Mrs Bob Larson on a trip to St Maries, where Mr. Larson is building a Lookout station for the forestry department." (Sandpoint News Bulletin)

January 13, 1960: "The Clearwater Forest will provide 40 million board feet and the St. Joe Forest will yield 57 million - including two larger sales totaling 30 million which will be prorated over four years.
The state received an additional 27,000 acres from the St. Joe National Forest. It will include a high lookout atop St. Joe Baldy and will mean $2,000 extra revenue yearly." (Idaho State Journal)
