1935: The fire detection site developed with the construction of an L-4 ground cabin.
September 21, 1959: "Bill Lange, from Southgate, Mich., a 24-year-old student at Idaho State College, walked into a ranch on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. He had been missing since Sunday.
The Custer County sheriff's office in Challis said word was relayed over a Forest Service telephone from Fly Creek Lookout that Lange walked into the Falconberry Ranch on Warm Springs Creek. It was believed he arrived there about 1 p.m." (Idaho State Journal)
1993: In the latter part of the year a stranded camper accidentally burned the lookout building and nearby garage.
