May 1, 1914: "Last season a telephone line was constructed from the Oxford Mine, where it connected with the forest service line between Pierce and Elk Mountain lookout to the Mouth of Orogrande creek and this line will be continued on to Pot mountain is possibly one of the very best lookout points in the Clearwater country, it is believed that this will very greatly increase the efficiency of the present lookout system of the forest."
