September 4, 1974: "A forest observer in the Magruder area, Jeffrey Ellison, of Hamilton. suffered a severe knee injury in a mishap at the Bad Luck lookout Tuesday afternoon. July 9, 1975: "Linda Ambelang, a senior in zoology from the University of Montana, is spending her second summer on Bad Luck lookout. To keep her blood circulating, Linda packs water daily from a spring one-quarter mile downhill. And once a week, she affords herself the luxury of a bath at the Paradise Guard Station.
