July 14, 1928: "Forest Ranger W. H. Douglas, assisted by Vladimir Kinman, fire guard at the Flynn Butte lookout station, rounded up, or probably better said, rescued an aged Indian from the Coeur d'Alene reservation Thursday morning. The old man, who appeared quite feeble, was seen strolling down Meadow creek road Wednesday, and Thursday when Mr. Kinman went to his lookout detected smoke south of the river near Frank Peterson's farm and receiving instructions to investigate found the man suffering from hunger, fatigue and exposure.
Mr. Douglas communicated with people at Desmet and found that the Indian, more than a century old, had wandered from his home there. The man was taken to Princeton where he was met by relatives." (Daily Panidan)
