DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1959 (JEG)
THE STATION IS LOCATED, AIRLINE, ABOUT 10-1/2 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST
OF YELLOW PINE, ABOUT 12 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF WARM LAKES
RESORT AND ABOUT 5 MILES EAST OF POVERTY FLAT GUARD STATION.
IT IS ON THE HIGHEST POINT OF A PROMINENT HIGH, NORTH-SOUTH
RIDGE THAT HAS SCATTERED TIMBER ALONG ITS TOP AND IS LOCALLY
KNOWN AS LOG MOUNTAIN.
TO REACH FROM THE POST OFFICE IN YELLOW PINE, GO SOUTH, ON
THE GRADED ROAD, FOR 0.25 MILE TO A GRADED CROSSROAD. CONTINUE
SOUTH ON THE GRADED ROAD FOR 8.5 MILES TO A SIDE ROAD ON
THE RIGHT AND A SIGN COXS DUDE RANCH. TURN RIGHT, WEST,
ON THE SIDE ROAD AND GO FOR 0.1 MILE TO THE RANCH BUILDINGS
AND END OF TRUCK TRAVEL. HORSES MAY BE OBTAINED FROM COXS
DUDE RANCH. FROM THE DUDE RANCH PACK WESTERLY, ON THE CATON
TRAIL, TO THE BASE OF THE STATION HILL AND THE AZIMUTH MARK
SET IN A LARGE BOULDER. PACK WESTERLY UP THE STEEP HILL TO
THE HIGHEST POINT AND THE STATION. NOTE--THIS IS A 5-1/2
HOUR HORSE PACK AND A 1/2 HOUR BACK PACK.
