September 3, 1937: "Herman Blazer was placed in charge of the High Point Lookout station." (The Post-Register)
September 3, 1937: "Approximately 35,000 acres of sage brush was burned off west of here by the Idaho Wool Growers' association, it is reported. Destruction of the sagebrush insures better land for grazing purposes, also eliminating a serious fire hazard, it was reported.
Due to the increasing number of fires on the forest preserve recently a new lookout station was established on Highpoint. During the past week two fires were extinguished; one a small blaze near Hatchery Butte, the other northeast of Ashton covering an 18 acre area." (The Post-Register)
