1940: A non-standard 16x16 hip roofed, shake sided cab built on a native stone and concrete first story was built by the CCC.
August 11, 2013: The Elk Fire Complex has grown to be the largest wildfire in the country. The Danskin lookout has been evacuated and was coated in retardant to protect the structure.
