STATION DESCRIPTION
DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1959 (JEG)
STATION IS THE CENTER OF THE BASE OF THE LOOKOUT TOWER. THE
TOWER IS ABOUT 70 FEET HIGH AND HAS AN 8 FOOT SQUARE, 10 FEET
HIGH CABIN MOUNTED ON THE TOP. IT IS ALL PAINTED SILVER WITH
A METAL CABIN AND A POINTED ROOF.
STATION IS LOCATED, AIRLINE, ABOUT 3 MILES NORTH OF THE ELK
CREEK FOREST SERVICE RANGER STATION, 24 MILES NORTHEAST OF STANLEY
AND 24-1/2 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF LOWMAN. IT IS ON A HIGH,
PROMINENT WOODED MOUNTAIN LOCALLY KNOWN AS BEAR VALLEY MOUNTAIN.
